Support to Monitoring & Estimation of Energy Conservation Policies Impact
Results Presentation on “Support to Monitoring and Estimation of Energy Conservation Policies Impact’’
Friday, July 21st 2017 a meeting for result presentation on the project “Support to Monitoring and Estimation of Energy Conservation Policies Impact” was held in the General Directorate of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) office. The meeting was attended by units in energy conservation directorate of EBTKE, Indonesian Institute for Energy Economics (IIEE) as ESP3 consultant, and Dr. Hardiv Situmeang, Chairman of Indonesia National Committee – World Energy Council as guest participant.
Two main issues were discussed. Firstly, the findings of the project and the recommended actions to strive 17 percent energy conservation target by 2025. There are actions that should be focused on to achieve energy conservation target, for most are in industry and transportation sector. As Dr. Situmeang explained, a lot of effort will be needed to push the policies as there are still very few data available. One of the possible solutions is strengthening communication and coordination of several ministries, which are: Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Industry, etc. Second issue to be discussed is the preparation of final presentation on the study. There will be a further coordination on the concept of final presentation considering the result of this study that has a lot of benefits for stakeholders and need to be disseminated to public particularly decision makers.
