ESP3 Component 2 Lessons Learned Dissemination Event

Since 2013 Indonesia and Denmark have been collaborating on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and energy conservation for four years under Component 2 (C2) of Environmental Support Programme Phase 3 (ESP3). The collaboration resulted in 25 projects which were disclosed in a lessons learned dissemination event titled “Learning Towards a Greener and More Sustainable Future".

The seminar, which was located at Kempinski Hotel, Jakarta on 13 December 2017, was aimed to publicise the main lessons learned and showcase activities and achievements of energy projects under ESP3. Director of Energy Conservation of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), Head of Development of Danish Embassy in Indonesia, and Commission VII of House of Representatives were present at the event. Three distinguished persons delivered keynote speeches.

The one-day event discussed the benefits and challenges of ESP3’s energy projects, renewable energy development, energy efficiency potential, and roles of energy donors in Indonesia. The discussions were followed by around 125 attendees representing governmental agencies, private companies, students, universities, donor organisations, and NGOs. Partners involved in C2 ESP3 projects were also invited and present at the seminar.

Lessons learned report was handed from Mr. Kurt Moerck Jensen as the Head of Development – Danish Embassy in Indonesia to Mrs. Ida Nuryatin Finahari as the Director of Energy Conservation – MEMR. The handover marked the end of the development cooperation programme. The collaboration between Indonesia and Denmark in the energy sector will continue under the framework of Strategic Sector Cooperation on Energy.
