Deep in the Harapan rainforest, Ambassador Casper signed a new Danish support programme together with the local partner Burung Indonesia in the presence of Minister for Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya.
Pilot project implementation enters a new phase
Final tender documents for five pilot projects in Central Java are now in preparation, with completion due before mid-December 2016. Tenders will launch in early January 2017. Contracts will be awarded in Q2 of 2017, with construction starting in Q3.
Danish State Secretary for Foreign Policy, Ms. Lone Dencker Wisborg, visited Central Java in mid September 2016 to strengthen cooperation between the governments of Denmark and Central Java Province. Accompanied by Ambassador Casper Klynge, she met Governor Ganjar Pranowo to acknowledge the excellent progress of the DANIDA ESP3 programme in the province.
A comprehensive and intensive training for energy auditors is now underway in Central Java.
Central Java province won the local government category in the recent National Energy Efficiency Award (PEEN) 2016. It has won this award four times since it was initiated by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources in 2011.
